Former Middle School, High School, and College Football Players and Coaches, along with dedicated Dad’s, will teach your son the fundamentals of the game of football. Most Coach’s have had at least one son come through the program. While many of our players have gone on to play high school and college sports, all players will be more successful at whatever they choose to do later on in life by their participation in the Buckeye program. The goal of our organization is to provide the best instruction possible to athletes of all levels. The focus of our instruction is based on the goals and abilities of each team while always adhering to the proper fundamentals of the game.

DON MARCARI: GNAA Football Commissioner.  Coach Marcari is entering his tenth year coaching with the Football program. He started as a coach in the flag division and was then Head Coach for the C, B and 145 pound teams. His 2006 flag team won a Championship as well as his 2010 145 lb team which won the City Championship; his 2011 145 lbs team was City Runner-up. Coach Marcari has also coached high school football in South Carolina. Was a former linebacker and running back.

TJ MORGAN: Director of Tiny Mites/Mighty Mites. GNAA Area Chairman: Coach Morgan started with the Buckeyes as Director of Flag in 2006. He moved to Mighty Mites Director/Coach in 2009 and is currently on the Board of the VBYFL. TJ is  the  Strength & Conditioning/Running Backs Coach at Cox High School and was formerly the team doctor for Kempsville high school. Coach Morgan owned/coached the Hampton Roads Sharks Semi-Pro Football. TJ played at Kempsville High School where he was an Adidas All-American and Virginia Player of the year. He played at Wake Forest before transferring to the Univ. of Richmond where he was on the First Team All American strength team. Coach Morgan is a certified Chiropractic Sports Medicine Physician.

JEFF DOY: GNAA Director of Tackle. Coach Doy is the longest tenured Buckeye coach. His teams have won City Championships at each level Jeff has coached. In 2012 Jeff was head coach of our 150 lb team. Jeff is also a full time college baseball official.

JEFFREY BAGDON: Coach Bagdon began coaching 10 years ago in the flag football division in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL Junior Development League, one of the top Pop Warner leagues in the country. In 2009 he moved back to Va Beach and began working with the Buckeyes where he was on the staff of the145 lbs teams that went to three straight City Championships,. In 2012 Jeff was the C team Head Coach.

JEFF BALLANCE: Coach Ballance has been coaching in the Buckeye Program for 8 Years. He won 2 Flag Championships, a Mighty Mites Championship and a 125 Lbs “A” Team Championship. Coach Ballance coached high school football for 15 years at Kempsville, Tallwood, Green Run and Princess Anne, where he was Head coach for 6 years. His teams won 4 Beach District Championships, 2 Regional Championships and placed 3rd in the State. He has also worked both High School and College Camps. He was a former Quarterback/punter at Virginia Tech.

JOHN BOYNEWICZ: Coach Boynewicz has been a Buckeye’s assistant for 4 seasons with the 125 lbs “C” team and Mighty Mites as well as coaching 2 yrs in flag. He is also a certified Head coach with lacrosse. Coach Boynewicz was a 2yr letterman at the Coast Guard Academy where he played linebacker.

MICHAEL BRUCE: Coach Bruce played at First Colonial and than as a linebacker at Penn State where his team won the 1982 National Championship. Mike has been coaching with the Buckeyes for 6 yrs starting in flag, Mighty Mites and than the C and B teams.

DAVE CAHILL: Coach Cahill has been Head coach for the Tiny Mites for 2 Years. He wrestled for 11 years and played football in high school as a defensive end. Dave was the assistant Commissioner for the New Hartford Pop Warner program for 4 years and a baseball umpire for 4 years as well.

PHIL CAMPBELL: Coach Campbell has coached Football for the last 10 years. He believes in teaching the players the rules and fundamentals of the game and has been able to balance the ambitions of winning with the hard work and challenges that it takes to develop a young athlete. Coach Campbell has won 2 Flag Championships, in 2007 his 125 lb “A” team went undefeated and won the City Championship, his 8-9 Mighty Mite team also went undefeated and won the Virginia Beach Youth City Championship, his 2011 125 lb A team was the runner up in the City Championship game and in 2012 his A team again went undefeated and won the 2012 Virginia Beach City Championship. Was a former defensive back and Quarterback.

TOMMY DEMARTINI: Coach DeMartini, a Sergeant with the VBPD, has been with the football program for 4yrs starting off in flag. In 2010 his 10-0 Tiny Mites were City Champions; the next year his Mighty Mite team suffered a  first round loss to the eventual City Champions and in 2012 his Mighty Mite team won 3 playoff games before losing in the Championship game. Coach DeMartini is a Salem High School assistant varsity Baseball coach and a former Offensive Coordinator at First Colonial High School. Coach DeMartini was an All-County Quarterback and an MVP Catcher in high school.

JAMIE GOLEMBIEWSKI:  After graduation from High School Coach Golembiewski was a quarterback and running back coach for his former team. He currently serves in the USN and coached his 2012 team to the Flag championship. He returns this year to coach the Mighty Mites.

JOSE GUTIERREZ: Coach Gutierrez brings his training as a Navy SEAL to the program. He was an assistant coach for 2 yrs before taking over as Head Coach of the 2011 “B” team which was the City Championship runner up; in 2012 he was the offensive coordinator for the 150 lbs team.

MIKE HAUSER: Coach Hauser played for Bayside High, than played tackle for the Beach/Eastern team for 17 yrs. He coached 2 yrs in flag with one of his teams winning the Va Beach Field House Championship. He then became the Buckeye Tiny Might Head Coach and than Asst. Coach for the Mighty Might team that was in this years VBYFL City Championship game.

MARK INDERLIED: Coach Inderlied has been a coach in the Flag, Tiny Mite & Mighty Mite divisions since 2009. Coach Inderlied was a First Colonial Patriot playing quarterback, defensive back and kicker. He walked on at the University of Virginia making the team as a place kicker and was invited to attend the NFL Scouting Combine. He regularly coaches local high school place kickers.

CHRIS KARVALA: Coach Karvala has been a Buckeye Coach for 6 Years; 3 with Flag and 3 as either a C or B Team Head Coach. Coach Karvala, a teacher, was the Salem High School Defensive Coordinator for 8 yrs. He played at Great Neck, Lynnhaven Jr., was a First Colonial starter for 3 years being named an All District Line Backer and played at the University of Richmond.  

BRAD SHEEHAN: Coach Sheehan has coached 5 years with the Buckeye's, one year as defensive coordinator for the 125 A team and four as 145 coach, 3 as head coach. His teams went to the City Championship games three times winning with the 2006 125 A team and as the head coach of the 145's in 2010; he was runner up in 2009. Was a nose guard and 2nd Team All-State offensive guard in High School. Played center at Shepherd College in West Virginia before transferring to Old Dominion University. 

JIM TRIMBLE: Coach Trimble has coached football for six years. He has coached both boys and girls High School Basketball as a volunteer assistant (most recently in 2006-2008 at Norfolk Academy-girls Varsity Team). Coach Trimble is a1990 Graduate of the Merchant Marine Academy @ Kings Point, NY where he was a starter in both Football (2 letters) and Basketball (4 letters) including a 1989 trip to the NCAA Basketball Tournament.  

CRAIG WILSON: Captain Wilson USN has coached with the Buckeyes 4 years; 1 at the Mighty Mite level, and 3 years at the 125 A/B level as an assistant DBs/RBs Coach. His teams went to the City Championships 3 of those 4 years (won the first, lost the second in 3 O/T) Played 4 years of high school football as Tight End and Safety where he was named a Captain his senior year. Played 2 years of club football at the Naval Academy.
